2 CALCANDO (CE232) D Whyte XB/TT Away in line, didn't have speed to cross, slotted into nice trail in midfield 3Ls away in running line, had ideal trip behind speed, eased out on turning, gradually closed to hit lead at 100 M and held challengers well in run to line.
1 CHATER POWER (CG312) A Delpech B/TT Began nicely, held a prominent role before settling behind speed 3Ls back on rails, tracked nicely saving ground on bend, in amongst horses most of straight but steadily progressed closing hard late to grab 2nd.
7 HIGH POINT (CH215) E Saint-Martin -- Away with line, dropped into a midfield spot, raced 2-wide 4 to 5Ls back, tracked eventual winner on bend, switched to middle but caught a little flat footed when sprint went on, did best work late and closed off nicely for 3rd.
3 MELLIFLUOUS (CH212) O Doleuze XB1 Out only fairly but showed plenty of dash to cross outside leader from 14 gate, kept pressure on throughout, 1/2L down on turning, hit lead briefly at 250 M, stuck on gamely in straight for a solid finish in frame.
5 GOLD MEDAL WINNER (CE165) K L Chui B Began with rest, outpaced and had to be contend with a midfield berth 5Ls away on rails, had a quiet time in mid-section same margin back on turning, closed race off nicely down centre to be closest on line.
12 KIMBERLEY MINES (CA367) M W Leung -- First to hit ground, had plenty of toe and took up spot on leaders back, didn't get a rest with solid tempo, right there on turning in, didn't have a dash in straight but stuck on evenly in run to line.
4 ENCORE WIN (CH251) G Mosse SR-/B1/TT Fair break, pushed on to take closer order, had ideal spot 1 out 1 back but overraced in mid-section, 2Ls down on turning, there to 200 M but received a bump when weakening and dropped out thereafter.
6 SWIFT GERMANIA (CE150) K T Yeung CP/TT Out with field, showed good early speed to apply pressure and take up running, rolled along at a solid clip, held a 1/2L break on turning, stuck on to 200 M but condition gave out and dropped off in run to line.
10 STEP TO WIN (CG167) S Dye B/TT Jumped well but soon faded back, raced 2 to 3-wide behind midfield 6Ls off front, had cover but raced ungenerously on bend, switched out in straight and closed off nicely from impossible spot to be closest at finish.
11 EASY PUNCH (CB276) D Nikolic -- Stumbled on jumping, didn't have speed to go with rest early, raced at tail 9Ls back on rails, helped by the slow pace, saved ground on bend, worked home nicely along inside over an insufficient trip.
9 MAGIC CHARIOT (CH094) F Coetzee SR1 Moderate getaway, taken back from a wide draw, ended up 3-wide without cover 6Ls back in midfield, did plenty of work to bend with speed on, couldn't find to raise another effort in straight and just plugged on line.
8 BUCCANEER (CH214) M Nunes -- Standard beginning, regathered to sit just off midfield 7Ls back in running line, still well down between horses turning, made only moderate progress in straight, tightened late but never really threatened.
13 TOFFEE (CE236) C K Tong -- Out with rest, couldn't muster early speed and settled back with last few 8Ls back on rails, moved 2-wide on circle, lacked usual finish in stretch and made little progress in run to line.
14 BRAVE KNIGHT (CC131) C W Wong -- Even getaway, soon sharing rear when unable to match them, raced 2-wide 8Ls back, helped by tempo, switched 3-wide on bend, last on turning and never really nearer.
