10 BUTTERFIELD (CG178) D Whyte B Little speed from jump and settled at rear, raced 2 wide 6Ls from leaders, not helped by steady pace, switched 4 wide on circle, last and widest into straight, closed hard down outside making good ground for 3rd.
1 EYE WITNESS (CG027) B Prebble XB/TT Out with rest, checked early and ended up in midfield half carting 4Ls back, raced on rails from midpoint, had an easy time to bend, eased 2 wide on turning, closed nicely between horses in straight to make frame.
12 TRIUMPHANT DIAMOND (CG227) Y T Cheng -- Taken back soon after start, ended up racing in last place on rails 6 to 7Ls back, harmed by tempo, on heels at 500 M and still held up passing 250 M, did best work last 200 M when clear to be nearest on line.
6 MAN IN THE MIRROR (CH058) D Nikolic -- Away reasonably, no early pace, ended up 3 wide with cover behind midfield, raced 5Ls back between horses covering ground, same margin turning behind runners for most of straight and really clear. (See Racing Incidents.)

8 COURAGEOUSHEART (CD202) F Coetzee B Well enough away, took a prominent spot 1 out 1 back 2Ls off pace, tracked well throughout, same margin back in 5th turning, gap appeared at 400 M but just closed at same speed and couldn't match them over last 200 M.
9 JUBILOSO (CD381) K S Yu B No speed from jump, posted 4 and 5 wide at rear when unable to slot in, improved wide on cover to be 4Ls down at midpoint, 2Ls down on bend, briefly threatened at 350 M but knocked up after hard run last 200 M.
2 TOP HONOR (CE183) O Doleuze -- Moderate jump, received a bad check early, raced 2 wide in rearward division 6Ls back, still towards tail behind horses leaving bend, made some ground through pack in straight but peaked on run at 200 M.

5 EVERGREEN (CE106) C W Wong TT Began nicely, took up box seat on rails 3Ls behind speed, trailed leader throughout and suited by muddling pace, right there on turning, found little under pressure and gradually weakened last 200 M.
11 CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE (CD234) K T Yeung B Fastest into stride, crossed them easily, dictated terms 1/2Ls clear setting a steady pace in mid-section, pressed by outside horses on bend, quickly overhauled passing 300 M and weakened out tamely thereafter.
3 TACTIC KING (CG081) K L Chui B/TT Standard break, ridden along to take closer order, challenged for front but had to be content to sit at leaders girth, had a fair trip with steady pace, challenged again on turning, found zero when asked and dropped right out.
