10 CALIFORNIAMOUNTAIN (CG310) H W Lai TT Fast away, showed plenty of dash to lead them, rolled along early before backing off tempo nicely in mid-section, controlled race to bend, 1L clear turning and never challenged when ridden out for a strong win.
11 LIBERAL'S CHOICE (CC345) F Coetzee -- Amongst first few to break, ridden up to hold leaders back, had run of race when pace slackened in the middle stages, tracked well on bend, angled out on turning but couldn't match winner, kept finding to get closest late.
12 FIVE GRAINS (CB280) A Delpech -- Even getaway, no early speed and assumed usual role at rear, raced 7 to 8Ls back on rails, not suited by slow pace in mid-section, still well back to bend, kept to rails and did best work late along inside to take 3rd.
1 FIRM OFFER (CE008) K L Chui SR Out with rest, drifted back to race in rearward division, enjoyed an easy trip but harmed by the moderate tempo, gave a sizeable start turning, got through horses at 250 M and did best work late to make frame.
5 NOBLE MAN (CC099) M Nunes -- Began better than usual, ended up in midfield spot 3 to 4Ls back on fence, relaxed well and used little to bend, 3Ls back in 4th turning in, kept to rails and plugged steadily at same pace to line.
4 GREAT ACHIEVEMENT (CD250) D Nikolic TT Broke nicely, pressed on from a wide alley, assumed coveted 1 out 1 back spot 2Ls behind pace, had a soft trip with dawdling speed, 5th turning and eased out but lacked usual sprint and simply laboured last 200 M.
7 GALLANT LION (CG243) G Mosse -- Away with line, no early dash and faded back towards tail, raced 2-wide 6 to 7Ls from lead, not aided by slow sectionals, still well back on turning, came to middle and passed a few under hands and heels riding.
3 WHATABOB (CD213) D Whyte B/XB Broke well, took up closer order outside leader, did some early work but relaxed well when speed backed off, spent little to bend, 1L down on turning in, no run on last 200 M closing at one pace.
9 NOBLE CONQUEROR (CG169) B Prebble B Tardy to begin, urged along and regathered to hold midfield spot in 2-wide running line, didn't look comfortable and not helped by tempo and still 4 to 5Ls back on bend, didn't close as per usual and battled late. (Blood in trachea.)
8 WINNING REWARD (CE254) E Saint-Martin B Began fairly, couldn't slot in early and ended up worse than midfield 6Ls back in 2-wide line, harmed by lack of pace, still had job to do on bend, found little and weakened out (didn't handle conditions).
6 DORDENMA (CE333) Y T Cheng XB Badly away, raced at rear 10 or more lengths from lead, didn't look comfortable throughout and urged along to hold spot, well back on bend and found nothing in straight to be beaten a long way.
2 DR WELL (CD165) S K Sit -- Fair jump, unable to position in running line and posted 3-wide without cover throughout, gradually improved to be 3Ls down at Rock, under pressure shortly after and faded quickly after a hard run.
