6 8 MAGIC TEMPLE (CC368) E Saint-Martin PC/TT No dash for outset, landed a position in rear of field 9-10Ls off pace, suited by pace and gradually improved on bend, tracked nicely turning and closed race off well to be nearest on line.

9 3 VIVA FIGHTER (CG307) B Prebble B-/PC1/TT Restrained from a wide alley, trailed field more than 12Ls back on rail, aided by solid tempo, improved position on bend, passed a few tired ones before losing some late momentum when steadied but never really likely.
10 5 LIAOBUQI (CE018) C K Tong PC/H/TT Showed customary pace to race outside the leader, worked in mid-section with solid tempo, raced 1L away on bend, pushed along on turning when leader slipped clear, weakened easily final 300 M.
11 11 KING HESPERUS (CE151) F Coetzee B/TT Began in line, unable to slot in, posted 3-wide without cover 7Ls back in mid-division, niggled along on circle, gradually lost touch when hard run took toll.
12 14 SILVER MARK (CE226) K L Chui V/TT No pace from outset, ended up amongst tail-enders 12Ls back, never suited by surface, checked at 700 M, couldn't hold position in run home and struggled to line.
13 10 GOLDEN BALL (CH128) M W Leung PC No pace from outset, drifted to tail more than 12Ls back in running line, never really appeared comfortable, struggling on bend, produced no extra and was beaten a long way.
