8 UNITED EFFORTS (CH177) K T Yeung XB Away well, slotted into coverted 1-out-1-back role, had a fair run on back of speed, angled clear rounding home bend, came with a strong run to hit lead passing 200 M, went on to score a comfortable win.
5 EXPRESS WIN (CJ042) D Whyte SB/TT First into stride, pressed on to take a spot outside leader, speed genuine and didn't have an easy time, still 1L down turning, briefly went to front at 200 M, quickly passed and unable to go with winner late.
10 MELLIFLUOUS (CH212) G Boss B/XB/H Standard jump, assumed a midfield role 5Ls away on rails, had a quiet time in mid-section, saved ground on bend, made good progress between horses in straight to take a clear 3rd.
7 ELFHELM (CC342) Z Purton B Began nicely, took a closer position than usual 3-4Ls back on fence, not used in middle stages, progressed on bend, closed well in straight trailing winner but lacked extra gear and peaked on run at 150 M.
12 VICTORY TREASURE (CE031) K L Chui V/TT Out well, took a midfield position 3-4Ls back in running line, travelled well throughout, pushed along on turning, came to middle and closed fairly to 100 M when run ended.
6 LUCKY HERO (CH135) D Beadman -- Fast away, assumed close up position on leaders back, had an ideal trail but did have reasonable sections to match, right there on turning and switched into clear at 200 M, didn't run out trip last 200 M. (Abnormal breathing.)
2 GROWL (CH224) E Saint-Martin TT No pace from outset and ended up 6-7Ls away on rails, not asked in mid-section, appreciated pace on, still well back on bend, managed to make some late progress but never really likely.
11 YANKEE (CH271) B Prebble -- Allowed to drift back from wide alley, raced behind midfield 7Ls back in running line, suited with pace on, made a 3-wide run on circle, lacked a finishing burst and just produced a one-paced effort in run to line.
3 IMPERIAL APPLAUSE (CG209) F Coetzee B Taken back from a wide gate, raced at rear 8Ls back on rails, aided by tempo but set a big task when still last on bend, passed a few tired runners late closing fairly but set too great a task.
9 FAT DRAGON (CD130) M W Leung -- Lost early ground and failed to muster, settled further back than usual on pace role and was 7Ls away on fence, not used up and suited by pace, back between horses turning, made little progress late.
1 CONESTOGA (CE313) M Du Plessis -- Out with first few, took up running and rolled along at a solid tempo, held a 1L break on turning, under pressure at 200 M and quickly compounded weakening badly late.
4 GOODY (CD239) O Doleuze -- No pace from jump, ended up 5-6Ls in 2-wide line, had a reasonable run in mid-section, pushed along on turning, didn't produce usual finish and struggled late.
