2 2 LU YUE (CH278) Y T Cheng B/H Bounced out well, drove up to hold lead, set terms but worried throughout by outside horse, kicked through 1L clear at 300 M, went for home on turning, ran down by rival on line.
3 3 TOM'S SIX (CG264) C K Tong B Away nicely, took up a spot on leaders back, had an easy time in middle stages with standard pace, tracked well but still 1 to 2Ls back when winner sprinted, kept coming in straight to go down in 3 way go.
4 9 CLEAN SWEEP (CD323) B Prebble B Out in line, assumed a midfield role, 4Ls from front runners, had a reasonable run, gradually improved between horses on bend, into clear on turning and closed well to 100 M but just held position thereafter.
5 4 YOUNG HERO (CH071) M Du Plessis TT First to hit ground, challenged for lead early before electing for 1 out 1 back trail, had a fair run throughout, unable to quicken when they sprinted, stuck to task at same pace to be not far away on line.
6 10 DASH AHEAD (CD199) M W Leung SR Away with them, not much early pace, raced 5 to 6Ls back in 3 wide line, not aided by tempo, still well back to bend, stuck to inside and closed off soundly in straight.
7 11 LOTZATOW (CD397) H W Lai B/TT Restrained from widest gate, ended up 7Ls away at rear, not ideally suited by standard sections, well back and shifted wide on turning, made many lengths late to be nearest on line.
8 1 SOUNDS BEST (CE255) D Beadman TT Away evenly, slotted in nicely 3Ls back on fence, had a quiet time in middle stages, improved on bend saving ground on inside, looked a brief chance at 200 M but peaked on run and just held ground thereafter.
9 5 DISGUISE (CG004) D Whyte B Began reasonably, pressed forward however was posted 3 wide without cover, did it tough 3Ls back in front of midfield, struggling on turning and gradually weakened when hard run took toll.
10 8 SUPREME GAINS (CG057) K L Chui SR/TT- No real early pace, ended up 4 to 5Ls back in running line, speed against in mid-section, still had job to do from bend, steadied turning but only managed a one paced finish.
11 12 KING HOGAN (CE257) W M Lai B Taken back to rear, raced 7 to 8Ls away on rails sharing rear, not helped by steady speed, set a big task when still well back turning, lacked usual finish and just plugged away in straight.
12 7 NILOMETER (CD052) K T Yeung B/TT Began with first few, pressed on to race outside leader, worried inside horse throughout, began to struggle at 350 M, dropped out tamely in straight.
