7 DASH (CG236) W M Lai B Awkward break, held 'one-out-one-back' position 2Ls or 3Ls off speed in 4th until home straight, responded to pressure to lead 100 M out, kept on well.
4 GOLDEN TREASURE (CJ087) D Whyte -- 2-wide and 1L back in 2nd at 1200 M, always prominent and led 300 M out, no answer when headed by the winner about 100 M from the line, just held 2nd.
2 NEEDLES AND THREAD (CJ282) B Doyle B1 Hampered early on but recovered to race in midfield about 4Ls from speed at halfway, stayed on fairly well in the straight to place.
6 SUNNY SMILES (CJ073) W C Marwing -- Caught 4-wide no cover before pressing on to lead on the rails by 1L at the 700 M, headed about 300 M out and one-paced and tipped out of placings late on.
3 CARRY GOOD NEWS (CG219) E Saint-Martin -- Didn't travel early on, at least 10Ls adrift at first and detached at point of home turn, ran on quite well in the straight, never nearer.
1 BREAKING POINT (CJ179) D Beadman PC Slowly away, 3-back the rails initially and 4-back when 6Ls down in 9th at 800 M, still with plenty to do off the home turn, one-paced to conclude.
13 COULDN'T CARE LESS (CD009) M Du Plessis -- Hampered early on, got back as usual and 7Ls behind at halfway, retrieved a little late ground in the home straight.
9 JOYFUL YEARS (CG143) H W Lai -- One from rear about 8Ls from the lead in middle stages and still well behind on straightening, recovered some late headway without really threatening.
12 BAYVIEW GREYSLEW (CJ194) K L Chui TT Box-seated at the 1200 M in 4th but slipped back to 4Ls from the front when taking home turn, plodded on home at the one speed.
10 LUCKY TYCOON (CH318) Y T Cheng B 5Ls back in 8th at 1000 M, a little tight for room before home straight but didn't find much when clear shortly afterwards. (Questioned for poor performance.)
11 PEARL HALO (CJ023) C K Tong TT Prominent at first but left 3-wide no cover from 700 M to home straight about 4Ls from the speed around midfield, weakened out steadily.
8 JOY TRUMPS (CD242) G Mosse B/TT Hung in during middle stages when rearward and about 6Ls behind the speed, very weak from top of home straight.
5 TREASURE HUNT (CJ348) F Coetzee TT Led by 1L at 1200 M, headed at 800 M and checked on fence soon after, 3Ls down in 3rd and weakening off last bend, ceded further ground.
