5 TRAVEL LEADER (CD226) G Mosse CP Slowest out, 10Ls last at 1200 M and going well when 5Ls down off last bend, quickened through the field to lead about 100 M out, kept on strongly.
4 OCTAGONAL CANYON (CJ055) D Whyte -- 3-back on the rails about 3Ls behind in mid-division through to home turn, upsides with every chance 150 M out but couldn't match winner's late burst.
2 HAPPY HEROES (CD261) Z Purton B/TT1 8Ls away in 10th at 1200 M, closer but wider into stretch, went close 2nd with all chances at 200 M, couldn't sustain the run but still placed.
9 SERIOUS PLAY (CC003) E Saint-Martin B One from rear about 9Ls off speed at 1200 M, 6Ls adrift entering home straight, made some decent late ground but couldn't reach front trio.
7 LIGHTNING MOUNT (CH082) K L Chui B/TT 4-back the rails and 6Ls from the speed at 1000 M, 4Ls behind on straightening, stayed on fairly well to be nearest at the finish.
6 DASHING FLAIR (CE330) H W Lai TT 2-wide and 3Ls or 4Ls back in midfield through first half, threatened when over 1L back in 4th off last turn, run died rapidly inside final 200 M.
3 KINGSTON TEMPLE (CH234) B Prebble B More prominent than normal, 2-wide and 1L back in 3rd at 800 M, ridden to lead from top of straight to 150 M out, retreated quickly once headed.
8 DECAGONAL (CH244) Y T Cheng B/TT Box-seated between 3rd and 5th about 2Ls from the speed until the home straight, absolutely no excuses for not finishing the race more strongly.
10 DENDRANTHEMA LOVE (CD073) B Doyle B Settled worse than midfield as usual, only 4Ls or 5Ls from speed from 800 M to last section, failed to produce a late flourish and no excuses.
11 ALL FOR ONE (CH180) C W Wong -- Close-up but 3-wide no cover throughout, 2Ls back in 5th at halfway and still thereabouts off last bend, soon hit the wall after the tough trip.
1 FISHKING EXCELLENT (CG232) K C Leung V Went forward but never travelling well enough to lead at first, niggled to dispute pace from 800 M until 400 M, dropped out very rapidly. (Questioned for poor performance.)
12 HEADINGLEY (CH264) D Beadman B/TT Over-racing when 1L in front on fence at 1200 M, still keen joined down back straight, headed and gone well before the home turn, eased down. (Questioned.)
