3 DUMBARTON ROCK (CJ228) M Du Plessis B/TT Ideally placed in 3rd under a positive ride and tracked leaders handily, put in a sustained effort inside 300 M to charge down the runaway leader close home.
8 SPEEDY STAR (CJ174) Y T Cheng -- Overcame a wide barrier and led, steadied the tempo in middle stages before picking it up again approaching home straight, pulled well clear and looked unassailable until the winner flashed past inside final 50 M.
11 UNIQUE SPEED (CG134) H W Lai TT Quickly away and crossed to the fence, 3Ls back in a position better than midfield, enjoyed a good run throughout, gradually picked up inside 350 M and prevailed in a blanket finish for the 3rd place.
6 NORDIC STAR (CH302) D Whyte TT Held a midfield position on the rail and about 4Ls off the pace when they settled, shaken up passing 600 M, drifted out on turning, closed off the race nicely and was just touched off in a close finish for 3rd.
12 HOLIDAY SUN (CJ328) W M Lai -- Pressed on early to take a close order, 2Ls off the leader in 4th and remained there to straight, couldn't match the first two but fought on gamely to the line.
10 ABLE DRAGON (CJ308) M Chadwick -- Average start, raced 2-wide in midfield 5Ls off the pace, carried wide making home turn and as a consequence covered extra ground, ran on steadily down the outside and finished just out of the frame.
7 MASTER ELITE (CJ210) Z Purton B1/XB1 Standard jump, eased back to a rear spot 6Ls behind leader, commenced his run passing 450 M but was carried wide, finished the fastest amongst the chasing pack but lost out for 3rd in a blanket finish.
4 HANDSOME TARGET (CH269) B Prebble -- Quickly taken to the fence and settled towards the rear 6 to 7Ls off the pace, saved ground on the inside throughout, stayed on inside 350 M. Narrowly beaten for 3rd but didn't pose any threat to the first two.
9 NEW CHAPTER (CH314) O Doleuze B Settled one off the fence in a rearward spot 8Ls back, under urging from 400 M, did make up some ground on straightening but never looked likely from that position.
1 LOCAL POWER (CH296) K C Leung -- Hard ridden to obtain a forward position just behind leader, moved closer vying for lead approaching the home turn, fought on but was gradually outpaced passing 200 M.
2 CHAMPION LAD (CH042) W C Marwing XB/TT Average break, unable to slot in and was caught wide without cover rounding the 1st turn, settled in midfield but unsuited by the slow tempo in middle stages, beaten passing 300 M. (Jockey questioned re poor performance.)
5 MAN IN THE MIRROR (CH058) E Saint-Martin -- Switched off to the rear soon after jumping, trailed 10Ls to leader and didn't really pick up when asked. Disappointing.
