2 8 HAPPY TUMBLER (L048) B Prebble XB Drifted back to occupy spot behind midfield 6ls back, not helped by steady tempo, let down well and dashed strongly being denied narrowly late.
3 5 HANDSOME ZULU (M024) T H So B Away well enough, camped on leaders back, all favours in the run with slow speed, angled back to inside turning and in mix before overtaken final 100m.
4 11 WIN PRACTITIONER (CG180) C K Tong B-/TT Began with slightly more purpose and raced behind midfield 6Ls away on rails, not helped by steady tempo, took inside runs turning and worked home well to make frame.
5 7 TURF EXPRESS (L399) G Mosse TT Average jump but ended up just behind pace group, 3Ls or so away on rails, easy time with slow tempo, just held ground in straight.
6 3 MILITARY MOVE (M077) D Beadman H/XB Pressed on and settled outside leader, helped by slow pace, all favours to turn when pace quickened, tightened at 200m but proved one paced at business end.
7 1 PACKING OK (L372) J Lloyd H Ended up 3 wide when going forward, faced breeze 1-2Ls off lead, aided by steady tempo, close enough on turning but struggled to pick up and just one speed in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
8 6 ABSOLUTE HEDGE (L032) O Doleuze -- Plenty of early speed to take up running, set slow tempo in front, had terms to suit to bend, average response when tackled and weakened.
9 12 FLEET COMMAND (CK077) M Du Plessis SR-/B2 Drifted back from a tricky alley to race at rear on rails, harmed by slow pace, well back turning, made some progress before checked at 150m, no real look in thereafter.
10 9 FUN RIDER (CK231) B Doyle B Dropped in just behind first few, had ideal run in 1 out 1 back spot, right there turning but crowded at 150m, not able to be ridden out thereafter.
11 10 HAPPY GUYS (L275) H W Lai B Drifted back to settle off midfield form a wide alley, raced 3 wide with cover, pace against in mid section, niggled turning and didn't improve. (See Racing Incidents.)
12 2 RIDE WITH THE WIND (L183) T Angland B/TT Taken down to rear from wide alley, slow pace didn't help chances, always well back, never really threatened. (See Racing Incidents re hanging and bit pulling through.)
