3 8 NOVEL START (M255) W M Lai -- Settled on the fence in fourth position tracking the speed, had cover. Finished off soundly.
4 10 STAR OF FAME (CH043) U Rispoli B/TT Parked worse than midfield, 2 deep with cover. Shifted out into continue clear running after the 200m and worked home nicely.
5 4 HAPPY HOMING (N182) Y T Cheng -- Shuffled back near the 800m, travelling 1 off, midfield with cover. Swung the home turn widest, finished off steadily without ever threatening the principals.
6 1 GERONIMO MEADOW (N226) C K Tong B/TT Parked midfield the fence had cover. Stayed towards the inside in the final stretch, never quickened & was one paced.
7 5 AMAZING ALWAYS (N432) N Callan -- Travelled with the backmakers on the rails. Kept to the inside in the home stretch, stayed on at the same speed down the running.
8 12 GOAL AND GOLD (N229) M L Yeung P/TT Settled worse than midfield, on the paint with cover. Railed up in the straight but kept on at the same pace in the run to the line.
9 7 GREAT ALEXANDER (P019) G Mosse H1/P1/TT Dulled for leading duties for the better part of the race, travelling keenly in the early & middle stages, 3/4L in advance of a runner to its inside. Was a spent force after the 150m.
10 3 DRAGIMOVA (N151) D Whyte B Travelled 3 deep without cover before managing to shift in and race 1 out 1 back on the circle. Weakened over the final 100m. (reported to be lame in the R/F the following day)
11 11 LITTLE RAINFOREST (N101) T H So B1/TT Travelled second last, 2 deep with cover. Whacked away at the same speed in the straight, failing to close off.
12 6 JACK'S GEM (N331) M Chadwick -- Began only fairly then was crowded, settling in last position along the fence, had cover. Only plodded home in the final stretch.
