2 3 DAN EXCEL (N195) N Callan SR-/CP1/TT Ridden along to stay with leading pack and kept 3-wide without cover. Covered extra ground turn, 3-wide into straight, joined leaders 300m, kept on gamely when passed 150m.
3 5 CHARLES THE GREAT (N171) J McDonald SR/TT Jumped OK, restrained and held at rear in a one-off position. Switched out turning for home, picked up momentum from 200m, finished off nicely.
4 6 FREDERICK ENGELS (N187) T Berry TT Steadied shortly after start, restrained and held at rear close to rail. Saved ground turn, stayed on rail and ran home steadily despite restricted room from 300m to 200m.
5 2 LUCKY NINE (L259) B Prebble H Began well and soon in one-off, one-back position. Steadied 1100m, recovered and travelled comfortably to turn. Shaken up 350m but found little. Kept on one-paced.
6 7 FLAGSHIP SHINE (P104) J Moreira XB-/CP2 Hard ridden from outside draw to sit outside leader on settling. Travelled well around turn, moved forward to challenge 300m, kept on till flattened 50m.
7 9 SUPER LIFELINE (P158) K Teetan -- Crowded at start, ridden forward before over-racing and getting close to heels 1100 losing position. Three-wide into straight and one-paced under hard riding.
8 4 PACKING WHIZ (N120) O Doleuze H/XB Began fairly, outpaced and distant last back stretch. Closed in approaching turn, switched wide entering straight, ran past tired horses.
9 8 PURE CHAMPION (M178) M Chadwick TT Began fairly, ridden along to hold rail 3-back from leader. Saved ground turn, came off fence 400m but one-paced under hard riding.
10 11 DUNDONNELL (S110) G Mosse -- Jumped well, ridden along early to hold box seat before turn. Gave ground steadily soon after entering straight.
11 10 SMART VOLATILITY (P049) T Angland -- Began best and soon had uncontested lead. Set steady pace around turn, joined up front 300m, gave ground steadily.
