2 10 GOLDEN GENERAL (A346) C Y Ho CP Unbalanced at start before racing in midfield, wide & without cover throughout. Raced keenly passing 750m before moving wider on cornering. Closed off strongly in last section for fast finishing second. Clear of third.
3 1 HURRICANE HUNTER (A123) N Callan -- Not bustled at start & drifted back to race just worse than midfield away from rail. Entered last section 3.5L from lead before making continual steady ground between runners to move to well held third in closing 50m.
4 3 TREASURE CHEST (D008) C L Chau CP- Strode forward from wide gate before improving to race outside the leader from the 1200m. Moved up to assume lead passing the 300m before being passed by the first two at the 175m. Well held fourth.
5 9 RED BRICK FIGHTER (C304) Z Purton B Strode forward close to lead early before getting good position away from rail behind leading duo. Eased three wide on cornering, travelled strongly before peaking on run at the 200m & yielding a few lengths late.
6 5 THE JOY OF GIVING (A249) M F Poon B Shifted behind runners after the start & settled a clear last. Continued at the tail, 7 lengths form lead entering last section before making strong closing ground to midfield. Was too far back but ran on ok.
7 12 KWAICHUNG BROTHERS (A012) C Wong B Raced in the clear in midfield in early & middle stages. Shifted away from the rail after cornering when just over 2L from lead before failing to make any further improvement. Well held.
8 13 ROCKAGE (B242) V Borges B/XB/TT Improved position soon after the start to race in midfield away from rail. Lay outwards throughout middle sections & consequently was awkward & very wide on home corner. Offered little in the last 400m & was well held.
9 2 JOY MASTER (B222) J Moreira TT Shifted behind runners after start & raced second last. Continued near the rear, over 4L from the lead entering last section before passing a few tiring runners to midfield but never proved a factor.
10 11 MISCHIEVOUS SUNDAE (C016) K H Chan P Crowded on jumping & consequently drifted back to race just worse than midfield on rail. Awkwardly placed near heals near the 800m. Weakened out further in final 300m & was well beaten.
11 8 GREAT HARVEST (B390) M Chadwick B Showed good speed after the start to stride to lead. Headed in the lead passing the 300m mark before weakening out meekly in last furlong. Well held.
12 7 DRAGON BOLT (D077) C Schofield H/XB1 Began very awkwardly & lost ground, consequently racing third last on rail. Continued near the rear on straightening before weakening out further in closing stages to be well beaten.
13 14 KEEP GOING (B231) H T Mo SR/B2/TT1 Hard ridden after the start to improve to race on leaders back. Continued close to the lead before being bumped & steadied passing the 400m when searching for running. Stopped badly in last 300m & was well beaten.
14 6 BLAZING PARTNERS (B071) A Hamelin SR Tightened soon after start & lost position consequently racing in second half. Moved the widest runner on cornering when second last before being steadied out of race in final 250m. (Horse felt sore behind-rider).
