3 12 ONE STEP AHEAD (C242) J Moreira B- Raced in midfield on rail. Moved closer to be on the leaders back approaching corner, dashed up to lead at 300m before being over-run in final 150m. Held third but had every chance.
4 11 EVEN KEEL (C442) L Ferraris B/XB Was prominent early but was very wide & consequently steadied & drifted right back to worse than midfield. Cornered very wide when about third last before making steady late ground down the outside to well beaten 4th.
5 3 TELECOM ELITE (D355) K C Leung H Steadied away from heels when shifting down to rail after start before improving slightly & raced just worse than midfield on rail. Obtained clear running on straightening when 3L behind, finished only steadily in straight.
6 7 JOY AVENUE (C340) A Hamelin -- Raced in midfield, 3 wide early before 2 wide after first bend. Eased wider passing 500m mark, about 4L from lead on straightening & could only maintain that margin when holding midfield finish on line.
7 5 FOX CHEUNGER (B187) H Bentley B/TT Began well before steadying & drifting back to just worse than midfield. Raced a touch wide but with cover around first bend before being hampered on corner. Straightened 4.5L from lead & effectively held that margin to line.
8 2 WIN TECH (E152) K Teetan TT1 Out-sped after start & shared last place when racing on rail. Moved off the rail passing 500m, entered last section about 5L from lead before finishing off steadily in the run to the line to be beaten about the same margin.
9 4 ALLOY STAR (D053) C L Chau B/TT1 Shifted behind runners after start to race worse than midfield between horses throughout. Shifted 3 wide to improve passing 550m, forced second widest on cornering when 5L from lead before finishing only one paced to line.
10 8 CIGAR BUDDIES (D299) H N Wong B Began fast to lead. Raced 2L clear approaching corner before emptying at 250m & weakening out in final furlong.
11 1 LITTLE PLAYER (E066) B Shinn -- Had a nice run just behind the leaders in fourth. Eased 3 wide passing 600m mark, entered last section just over 2L behind before emptying early in straight & weakening poorly in concluding stages.
12 6 PAKISTAN ZINDABAD (D312) A Badel B/TT Drifted back from outside gate & raced on the outside in a line of 3 at tail. Relegated to a clear last after first turn, over 8L behind on straightening when continuing at tail before making no real headway in straight.
13 9 NOBLE MAN (C412) K H Chan E-/B/H1/TT Ridden forward to be prominent but was caught 3 deep without cover in third for the majority. Began losing ground from the 600m mark & weakened significantly in straight to be long second last.
14 14 KELMIMI WINS (C419) M L Yeung SR-/XB/CP1/TT Ridden forward, moved to second place after the first furlong when away from the rail. Was beaten before the corner & weakened out poorly in the straight to be long last. (Lame next day).
