2 5 FAST MOST FURIOUS (A165) M F Poon -- Quickly taken back to rear from a wide gate, saved ground on the rail turning for home, tight on the rail 400 metres out, ran on under pressure to just fail to get up on line.
3 10 HIGHLAND FORTUNE (C292) K Teetan -- Began well from a wide gate, travelled wide in first few before gradually taken back towards the rear while wide with cover, obtained a run 400 metres out and fought on dourly to the line. (Tactic questioned)
4 2 DUKE WAI (C188) C L Chau B/H Jumped awkwardly losing ground, soon recovered to rear of field in 9th on the rail, gained closer to 7th just off 3L off coming onto home bend, baulked for a run in straight until the 250 metres, finished off the race well.
5 4 EXCELLENT PROPOSAL (D386) J Moreira E Taken back to last from the widest gate, commenced move at the 600 metres swinging the widest making final turn, ran on well to be nearest at finish.
6 11 SILVER EXPRESS (E131) A Badel B Ridden forward to 2nd inside of race leader, switched 2-wide for a run when pace slackened approaching home turn, hit the front briefly early in straight but dropped away quickly inside final 250 metres.
7 3 VOYAGE WARRIOR (C247) C Y Ho -- Broke well from a middle draw to lead 2-wide, obtained rails run in front coming onto home bend, headed shortly after straightening and overhauled inside final 200 metres.
8 8 NOT USUAL TALENT (C095) K C Leung TT Settled just worse than midfield in 8th, tight between runners early in straight before eventually switched out for a clear run about 180 metres out, produced good late impression.
9 9 FANTASTIC TREASURE (E269) C Schofield -- Settled some 3L off the pace in 5th, slightly further behind rounding home bend before renewed effort approaching home turn, 4-wide turning in and soon found no extra. (Blood in trachea.)
10 1 BUDDIES (C019) M Chadwick H Ridden positively to prominent 3rd chasing the leaders into straight, faded under pressure 250 metres out.
