3 4 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) Z Purton -- In mid-division never far off from leaders, responded moderately under pressure, moved up to 3rd near 100M, comfortably held by first two.
4 7 GRACIOUS EXPRESS (J188) H Bentley -- Jumped awkwardly and then crowded for room, chased leaders along stand's side, kept on steadily over final 400M, not able to challenge first two but ran a pleasing race on debut.
5 1 FLYING HIGH (E204) M Chadwick TT Maintained a midfield position towards the stands' rail, battled on same pace passing halfway, safely held by leaders. (Jockey : his mount did not quicken under top weight on a track that had some give in it.)
6 2 HEROIC MASTER (G394) H Bowman CP/TT Bumped with rival at the start, soon towards the rear 6Ls off the pace, made some progress final 400M but couldn't get into the finish.
7 13 PRINCE OF PORTY (H009) A Badel CP/TT Crowded at the start, maintained a position towards the rear, picked off a few final 400M but posed no serious threat to leaders.
8 14 RUBYLOT (H412) K Teetan -- Badly crowded at the start, held up at the rear 7Ls off the pace, had some work to do passing halfway, made up some ground but never a threat to leaders.
9 11 CHEVAL VALIANT (E336) B Thompson B/TT Bumped shortly after the start, soon took up running along the stands' rail, headed inside 400M and failed to run on.
10 10 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris H1/SR1/TT1 Began awkwardly, soon took up a forward position chasing the pace, struggled to make an impression passing 500M and gave ground.
11 9 ATOMIC ENERGY (H150) Y L Chung TT Restrained after the jump, soon towards the rear, struggled to keep up halfway, never in the hunt.
12 12 CALIFORNIA TOUCH (J051) M L Yeung TT Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced, moved up to be prominent behind leader, struggled to maintain his position 400M, soon out of contention.
