3 4 WROTE A NEW PAGE (K226) J McDonald CP1/TT Settled in 5th spot ahead of midfield, driven out near 400M, ran on well to be nearest at the line. Just missed 2nd.
4 6 STAR CONTACT (E472) H Bowman CP/TT In 2nd spot, driven 400M but couldn't get closer to leader, couldn't hold off 2nd and 3rd late stages. (Jockey - made a respiratory noise during the running of the race.)
5 7 CHARITY GAIN (H431) L Hewitson XB/TT Jumped only fairly, reserved in midfield along the fence, responded mildly on straightening, kept on without threat to first three.
6 3 MONDIAL (K206) M Chadwick B In 4th place on settling, had to be niggled along home turn, kept on one paced final 300M. (Jockey - lay in under pressure in the home straight.)
7 8 STURDY RUBY (H207) C Y Ho B/TT Intended to hold a more forward spot but didn't show sufficient early pace to do so, ended up towards the rear and couldn't quicken enough in the straight. Never threatened.
8 1 FALLON (H219) M L Yeung B/TT From draw 12 given a waiting ride near the rear as expected, raced keenly early stages, had some work to do 400M, made up some ground but not reaching leaders.
9 12 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) K Teetan -- Away awkwardly, reserved near last, held up for clear running passing 400M before making limited progress. (Jockey - disadvantaged by settling back with the early stages being run outside of standard time.)
10 9 AESTHETICISM (H289) H Doyle B Switched off to race in last 10Ls off the pace, had big task in hand leaving the home turn, ran past a couple of horses only. Never threatened.
11 10 TALENTS TRUMP (K535) D Probert XB/SR1/TT Jumped awkwardly, settled down in midfield 4-5Ls off leader, came under pressure home turn and failed to pick up pace.
12 11 S J TOURBILLON (G138) R Kingscote CP/TT Held up behind midfield, little change in position to the straight, failed to respond when asked. Never involved.
