Racing Incident Report

DASHING THUNDER, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 19.1.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, DASHING THUNDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LUCKY DANSKE began awkwardly, then lost further ground after becoming unbalanced when bumping the hindquarters of RELY ON ME. THE GOODIES and PERFECT FEELING were slow to begin. In the early stages, MERIDIAN PRIDE proved difficult to settle. For the major part of the race, RELY ON ME travelled wide and without cover and near the 1100 Metres became unbalanced after shifting in and making contact with INSPIRATION. At the 600 Metres, PERFECT FEELING was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of FANTASY. After the 400 Metres, RELY ON ME became unbalanced when bumped by ELEGANT WIN which at this time shifted to the outside of MERIDIAN PRIDE into clear running. Near the 300 Metres, RELY ON ME, which was giving ground, was steadied away from the heels of INSPIRATION which shifted in when barely clear. ELEGANT WIN and INSPIRATION were sent for sampling.
