Racing Incident Report

OLE OLE was withdrawn on 20.3.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left front heel) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter EURO SWIFTLY (T Angland). Before being allowed to race again, OLE OLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FREE JUDGEMENT was checked when crowded for room at the start between GROOVY and FORTUNE RED PEPPER which began awkwardly and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. JUST FANTASTIC (Apprentice K C Ng) was slow to begin and shortly after the start was momentarily crowded for room between FLASHING AURA and KING OF REASON which shifted out. After this, JUST FANTASTIC was ridden along but was unable to obtain a forward position and passing the winning post on the first occasion, when racing wide, was shifted across behind runners. After the race, Apprentice Ng reported that in the early and middle stages JUST FANTASTIC, despite being ridden along, was reluctant to improve its position. From a wide barrier, EURO SWIFTLY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. In the early part of the Straight, FREE JUDGEMENT had some difficulty obtaining clear running. Throughout the race, RIO WILLIE and KING OF REASON travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of CARTHAGE after the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was not able to be scoped. HELENE SPIRIT, FLASHING AURA and SILVER GRECIAN were sent for sampling.
