5 12 CASA PRIMO (L201) Near the 200 Metres lay out and away from SUPER LOVE, resulting in its rider R Kingscote having to straighten his mount. Near the 150 Metres then became unbalanced when bumped by SUPER LOVE which shifted out under pressure.
6 14 GROOVY FEELING (J515) For some distance near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of CASA PRIMO.
7 6 HERO RISING (L294) Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with MAGNEMITE. Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid FLYING SNIPER when both runners shifted ground slightly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
8 9 SUPER LOVE (K118) Shifted out near the 150 Metres and was bumped. E Brown confirmed that from the outside barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position. Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions and said he issued those instructions as he was of the opinion there was not strong pace engaged in the race.
9 8 POET'S REIGN (L021) No report.
10 7 HOT AIR BALLON (K144) B Avdulla reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground at the start and as a consequence settled further back than intended. He added in the circumstances he was satisfied with his mount’s finishing effort. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 5 HAPPY SPECIAL (K572) Near the 100 Metres was eased to avoid GROOVY FEELING which shifted out under pressure.
12 4 AETHELWIND (L162) Slow to begin. Near the 900 Metres, when racing greenly, was steadied when positioned close to MASTER PHOENIX.
13 1 MAGNEMITE (K549) Noted to have blood in the mouth at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped on jumping.
14 10 MY TRIUMPH (K558) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
