Racing Incident Report

OVER THE MOON, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 8.7.10 by order of the Stewards (retirement). SUNSHINE BOY was withdrawn on 10.7.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GALLANT HUSSAR (W C Marwing). Before being allowed to race again, SUNSHINE BOY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After leaving the Parade Ring, FATBOY SUGAR became extremely agitated and proved difficult to proceed to the Start. Acting on veterinary advice that FATBOY SUGAR was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, FATBOY SUGAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. The Stewards will monitor the pre-race behaviour of FATBOY SUGAR in the future. After being loaded, ANDIAMO became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, ANDIAMO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. GALLANT HUSSAR was bumped at the start by SUGAR ON TOP which shifted out. From the outside barrier, VALUE CHOICE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Close to the winning post, SURE FORWARD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MIGHTY WINNER. A veterinary inspection of ACACIAS after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. SHOWTIME and SUGAR ON TOP were sent for sampling.
