Racing Incident Report

LUCKY STORM shifted in at the start, resulting in TRIUMPHAL WIN being taken in onto THE INVINCIBLE, causing TRIUMPHAL WIN to be hampered and THE INVINCIBLE to become unbalanced when bumped by TRIUMPHAL WIN. After this, despite being ridden along for a considerable distance, LUCKY STORM failed to muster speed. Then passing the winning post on the first occasion, LUCKY STORM and MI BLANCO raced tight between LITTLE FANTASY and THE INVINCIBLE which shifted out.
At the 1000 Metres, LUCKY STORM was left racing wide and without cover.
Rounding the Home Turn, THE INVINCIBLE and LUCKY STORM raced tight.
Passing the 400 Metres, MI BLANCO and BEST EFFORT raced tight.
Passing the 200 Metres, SOCCER BRAVE, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied away from the heels of LITTLE FANTASY (S de Sousa) which shifted out when not properly clear. S de Sousa was reprimanded.
The performances of SOCCER BRAVE and MASSIVE POWER, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SOCCER BRAVE and MASSIVE POWER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on LUCKY STORM at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY STORM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of THE INVINCIBLE immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, THE INVINCIBLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPHAL WIN immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TRIUMPHAL WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MI BLANCO and CORRE RAPIDO were sent for sampling.
