Racing Incident Report

At declaration time, M L Yeung was declared as the rider of both HAPPY PLACE and KEEN VENTURE. It was established that M L Yeung had a firm commitment to ride KEEN VENTURE. As such, the Stewards permitted C Schofield to be substituted as the rider of HAPPY PLACE. For this declaration error, M L Yeung was fined $2,000.
DOYENI began only fairly.
HAPPY PLACE and BEAUTY WAY bumped at the start.
From wide barriers, KEEN VENTURE and NASSA were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.
KEEN VENTURE lay out rounding the Home Turn.
For the majority of the race, SEASONS BLOOM travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, Apprentice M F Poon (SIMPLY INVINCIBLE) stated that his mount did not feel comfortable on today’s surface as it did not quicken when asked and then gave ground over the latter stages of the race. A veterinary inspection of SIMPLY INVINCIBLE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SIMPLY INVINCIBLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of SEASONS BLOOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SEASONS BLOOM, EASTERN EXPRESS and BOOMING DELIGHT were sent for sampling.
