Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the Start, D Beadman, the rider of ALIVE AND KICKING, reported to the Veterinary Officer that the horse had coughed on several occasions during its preliminary. The Veterinary Officer examined ALIVE AND KICKING and after consultation with D Beadman advised that in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ALIVE AND KICKING. Before being allowed to race again, ALIVE AND KICKING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, NEW ASIA FORWARD and TRIUMPHANT GLORY bumped. Shortly after the start, CLASSIC HORSE lost its position when momentarily crowded for room between MASTER OF SHAVERS and HOT SUN, both of which shifted ground. Near the 900 Metres, TRIUMPHANT GLORY and MUTUAL GAIN were momentarily steadied when crowded for room between NEW ASIA FORWARD and PERFECT ATHLETE which shifted in. After the 700 Metres, HOT SUN got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of NEW ASIA FORWARD. For some distance after this, HOT SUN proved difficult to settle. At the 600 Metres, SURE HERO was steadied when awkwardly positioned inside TRIUMPHANT GLORY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from FASTER FASTER. In the Straight, CLASSIC HORSE hung in. CLASSIC HORSE, MUTUAL GAIN and KING'S CHOICE were sent for sampling.
