3 9 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) L Ferraris (SO TREASURE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of WOOD ON FIRE, resulting in WOOD ON FIRE being crowded and having to be checked. L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Sunday, 6 October 2024 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.
4 10 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) Jumped awkwardly, got its head up and lost ground. In the early stages raced keenly.
5 6 UNISON (H423) No report.
6 2 HAPPY TRIO (G244) No report.
7 1 LIGHTNING BOLT (G130) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
8 7 SO TREASURE (H351) L Ferraris pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 800 Metres (see WOOD ON FIRE). After the event, L Ferraris stated that it was not his intention to lead the event, but after crossing to the front near the 800 Metres SO TREASURE failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 8 TOGEPI (G458) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
10 5 SAVVY CHIC (G261) After the event, H Bowman reported that this mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and raced in a disappointing manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SAVVY CHIC was considered to be unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SAVVY CHIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
