Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the course, SHOW WIN was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had travelled badly, had sustained abrasions to its left hock, was also lame in the left hind leg and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Accordingly SHOW WIN was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before SHOW WIN can race again, it will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, TOP OF THE CROWN was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon. The horse was passed suitable to race. SENSIBLE ADVICE was slowly away. On jumping, TOP OF THE CROWN shifted in and brushed NATIVE LANGUAGE. About the 1000 Metres, NATIVE LANGUAGE became unbalanced when being steadied to avoid the heels of TOP OF THE CROWN which was eased to avoid HONOUR SUPREME (K C Tsang) which shifted in when only just clear and then steadied. K C Tsang was reprimanded and told he should exercise more care when shifting in and to steady too quickly in front is a practice which should be avoided if possible. About the 800 Metres, ASIA STAR became unbalanced and shifted out when awkward on the heels of BLUE STITCH which itself was being steadied to avoid AFICIONADO. TOP OF THE CROWN, HONOUR SUPREME and BLUE STITCH were sent for sampling.
