Racing Incident Report

CAPABEL, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 27.6.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore suspensory). Before being allowed to race again, CAPABEL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LIGHTNING MOUNT began awkwardly. CHINESE BOY BOY was slow to begin. HURRICANE WAY was slow to begin and then in the Straight hung in. CHARMING MONKEYS began awkwardly and got its head up, then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover and making the turn at the 800 Metres hung out. Prior to straightening, FILEBO was shifted wider to obtain clear running. In the early part of the Straight, FREEBIRD hung in and after the 300 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out before again shifting in after the 200 Metres. At the 300 Metres, Apprentice K T Yeung (HEADINGLEY) dropped his whip. After the race, D Whyte (CHINESE BOY BOY) reported his mount did not handle today’s wet track conditions. NOBLE TWINS was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. CHINESE BOY BOY and WATCHMAN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of NOBLE TWINS, CHINESE BOY BOY and WATCHMAN after the race did not show any significant findings. PICTURE PERFECT and LIGHTNING MOUNT were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported BARRACUDA had lost its left front plate.
