3 10 FORTUNE STAR (K003) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 500 Metres shifted in and made contact with RISING FROM EAST.
4 9 AESTHETICISM (H289) Bumped at the start. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of LUCKY MY WAY to continue into clear running.
5 6 STRANGE ALERT (K278) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 2 LUCKY MY WAY (K146) No report.
7 5 TAKE ACTION (J098) On jumping shifted in and made contact with RISING FROM EAST. Near the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid HAPPY SMILE (K C Leung) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. K C Leung was reprimanded.
8 1 URANUS STAR (K511) When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward and lead. She said although URANUS STAR commenced well she was obliged to make use of the horse in the early stages to cross LUCK IS BACK and LUCKY MY WAY. She said approaching the first turn she then attempted to restrain URANUS STAR after crossing to the rail, however, URANUS STAR commenced to race keenly. She said although she was aware that URANUS STAR was racing well inside standard time she was unable to set a slower pace due to the manner in which the horse was racing. She added after entering the Home Straight URANUS STAR gave ground due to racing too keenly. After considering her explanation the Stewards were satisfied that Apprentice Yuen was riding to instructions in the early stages and that URANUS STAR would not respond to her efforts to set a slower pace during the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 4 HAPPY SMILE (L202) Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with AESTHETICISM. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 7 RISING FROM EAST (L145) Crowded at the start. Bumped near the 500 Metres. R Kingscote stated that his mount weakened noticeably in the Home Straight and would appreciate a surface with more give in it. The performance of RISING FROM EAST, which had finished tailed out on two consecutive occasions, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, RISING FROM EAST will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in two consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
