4 5 FLYING DOUBLE (J388) When questioned, Z Purton stated that FLYING DOUBLE anticipated the start and as a consequence bounded on jumping and became unbalanced. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight, Z Purton stated that his initial intention was to follow VANTASTIC CHOICE into the event, however, when VANTASTIC CHOICE did not improve, he then elected to shift back to the inside of that runner to continue to follow COMMANDING MISSILE near the 300 Metres. He said after shifting to the inside of COMMANDING MISSILE near the 250 Metres he was then able to place his mount under full pressure, but when improving between COMMANDING MISSILE and TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR, his mount reacted adversely when it was accidentally struck by the whip of C Y Ho, the rider of TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR. He added after this his mount responded well to his riding but over the concluding stages shied at the winning post and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.

6 8 TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (H430) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 9 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) No report.
8 3 METRO WARRIOR (D387) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
9 12 COMMANDING MISSILE (G210) No report.
10 11 ALWAYS FLUKE (H252) After the event, H Bentley reported that his mount hung in when placed under pressured in the Home Straight and responded only fairly to his riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 6 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) No report.
12 7 NOT USUAL DRAGON (J438) Jumped only fairly.
