Racing Incident Report

EURO SWIFTLY was slow to begin. BONDI LAD began awkwardly. From a wide barrier, DIAMOND RAINBOW was taken across behind runners in the early stages. When travelling wide passing the 900 Metres, BONDI LAD was steadied and shifted in behind runners to obtain cover. H W Lai (SHY BALDY) was severely reprimanded for shifting ground inwards approaching the 600 Metres when not clear of HAR HAR CHARMS which was checked. In considering this incident, the Stewards were of the opinion that GO FAY FAY had contributed by being steadied at that time which resulted in SHY BALDY becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of that horse. Passing the 500 Metres, HAR HAR CHARMS was shifted out away from the heels of SHY BALDY, resulting in BONDI LAD being taken wider. At the same point, ENGINEERING WONDER got its head up when steadied away from the heels of YOUNG LABEL. NORMAN INVADER and YOUNG LABEL were sent for sampling.
