Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the course, it was reported that CLASSIC JESTER had travelled badly in the float and sustained a minor wound to its near side hind pastern. The Veterinary Surgeon said he trotted the horse up and could detect no abnormalities. He discussed the situation with the Assistant Trainer and it was then decided that CLASSIC JESTER was suitable to race. WILFUL FLIGHT jumped awkwardly, bumped the inside of its gate, then just after the start bumped the hindquarters of EASY STAR. When the gates opened, MY HONOUR bounded in the air and lost considerable ground. About the 500 Metres, SUPER FAST was steadied when close to the heels of TRAVELLER STAR. After the 400 Metres, both MY HONOUR and SUPER FAST endeavoured to improve between TRAVELLER STAR and JET JACKSON. When improving, SUPER FAST was disappointed for this run, became unbalanced and shifted in slightly, making contact with ETERNAL START, this caused ETERNAL START to be severely checked and SUPER FAST to be checked. The crowding was severe, but in the opinion of the Stewards was accidental and no action was taken. After being severely checked on the turn, ETERNAL START was not ridden out and after the race it was reported that the horse had lost its off side front plate. After the 200 Metres, THE MOST DAUNTLESS, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded between CLASSIC JESTER and MY HONOUR which was taken out by SONIC. In the run to the winning post, MY HONOUR was tight between CLASSIC JESTER and SONIC. MY HONOUR was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
