Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
12 LEADING AGILITY (K553) Sent for sampling post-race.
5 GREATER BAE (L033) Shortly after the start was crowded between JUBILANT WINNER and PERFECT GENERAL. Near the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of LUCKY RIVER to continue into clear running. L Ferraris stated that after being crowded shortly after the start his mount settled further back in the field than what had been intended. Sent for sampling post-race.
4 JUBILANT WINNER (J346) Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
2 PERFECT GENERAL (J417) Shortly after the start was checked when crowded by LUCKY RIVER which jumped awkwardly and then shifted in.
3 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
8 PEGAS (L075) Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of PERFECT GENERAL which shifted in slightly.
1 PERFECTDAY (K238) No report.
7 LUCKY RIVER (L516) Jumped awkwardly, resulting in its rider B Avdulla becoming unbalanced. LUCKY RIVER then shifted in and made contact with PERFECT GENERAL. B Avdulla reported that, in his opinion, the horse, which was racing first up, would derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 KING MILES (J158) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 ROYAL BLITZ (L375) When questioned Z Purton stated that it was not the intention to lead. He said after riding his mount along in the early stages to hold an on-pace position ROYAL BLITZ commenced to race keenly and as a result he was obliged to allow it to stride forward to lead. He added that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding. He said when he was concerned there was something amiss with the horse he did not ride it out over the final 150 Metres. Trainer D J Whyte stated that the horse, in his opinion, was not suited by being ridden in the lead. He added that at its next race start the horse will be ridden in a more conservative manner. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ROYAL BLITZ was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, ROYAL BLITZ will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
10 DUKE ATREIDES (L340) Near the 1000 Metres was hampered when taken wider by SMART OINK which shifted out.
9 SMART OINK (L542) Jumped only fairly. Near the 1000 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid LEADING AGILITY which shifted in. As a result SMART OINK shifted out, resulting in it making contact with DUKE ATREIDES. Raced wide and without cover, and lay out on the Home Turn before giving ground in the Home Straight.
