Racing Incident Report

SPEEDY WINNER was slow to begin.
From a wide barrier, FORGIVE AND FORGET was shifted across behind runners in the early stages after beginning only fairly.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, GRAND ELITE was steadied away from the heels CHANCELLOR (C K Tong) which shifted in when not quite clear. C K Tong was advised to exercise more care.
After the 1200 Metres, GRAND ELITE was momentarily steadied away from the heels of FLYING CHAPARRAL.
Passing the 1200 Metres, GALAXY PRANCER and STEP FASTER became unbalanced after making contact due to both horses shifting ground slightly.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, STEP FASTER got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRAND ELITE.
For some distance after the 800 Metres, STEP FASTER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GRAND ELITE and near the 700 Metres was shifted out from behind that horse and allowed to improve its position. After this, STEP FASTER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of STEP FASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of STEP FASTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, STEP FASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Passing the 500 Metres, GRAND ELITE shifted in marginally when awkwardly placed close to the heels of FLYING CHAPARRAL, resulting in GALAXY PRANCER momentarily racing in restricted room inside GRAND ELITE.
T Berry, the rider of REAL GENEROUS, 3rd placegetter, was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out all the way to the end of the race where circumstances permit.
GOLDEN ADDICTION and CHANCELLOR were sent for sampling.
