Racing Incident Report

1 3 STRAIGHT TO GLORY (K340) Near the 1000 Metres was momentarily crowded by SUPERB KING which lay in and away from HAYDAY. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 SUPERB KING (K479) Bumped on jumping and became unbalanced. Leaving the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid HAYDAY (Apprentice E C W Wong) which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 1 HAYDAY (H321) Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with WHOWROTETHATSONG.
4 12 GOR GOR (K104) Jumped only fairly.
5 7 ACE POWER (J181) No report.
6 11 YEUX DE LIFELINE (K455) Near the 500 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from REGROWTH WINNER.
7 5 THE PERFECT MATCH (J253) Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race an endoscopic examination was conducted on THE PERFECT MATCH at the request of Trainer C S Shum. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, THE PERFECT MATCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
8 6 SWEET BRIAR (H044) In the early stages lay in, resulting in its rider having to correct his mount near the 1000 Metres.
9 4 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) Jumped awkwardly. When questioned A Badel stated that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said TACTICAL COMMAND lay out throughout the race and in the Home Straight when placed under pressure continued to lay out. He added whilst his preference was to improve to the inside of SWEET BRIAR near the 150 Metres, as TACTICAL COMMAND was laying out, he elected to allow it to continue to shift out to the outside of SWEET BRIAR rather than fight the horse which resulted in TACTICAL COMMAND not being able to be ridden out to the finish when positioned close to ACE POWER.
10 10 WHOWROTETHATSONG (L048) On jumping was bumped and became unbalanced. Approaching the 900 Metres lay in when racing keenly and as a result was steadied away from GOR GOR. Near the 500 Metres lay in and was steadied to avoid GOR GOR.
11 8 CELESTIAL STRIDER (L009) Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SUPERB KING. Near the 50 Metres was eased to avoid TACTICAL COMMAND which shifted out.
12 9 REGROWTH WINNER (L140) Approaching the 1000 Metres raced tight to the inside of SWEET BRIAR which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.
