3 11 VIVA FIRECRACKER (L065) Shifted in at the start and made contact with WIN EASE. K Teetan stated that the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said when his mount jumped well and was caught wide he was obliged to hold a more forward position than instructed. He added in the early stages of the Home Straight his mount was racing greenly and lay in. He said when contacted on the shoulder by LAKESHORE HERO, VIVA FIRECRACKER became badly unbalanced as a consequence.
4 12 FRANTANCK (H429) No report.
5 8 LAKESHORE HERO (J288) Bumped with THE AZURE on jumping due to both runners shifting ground. M F Poon stated that after the 300 Metres he endeavoured to improve to the outside of FRANTANCK to obtain clear running. He said as he did so LAKESHORE HERO lay in which required him to make more effort to shift his mount out. He said when improving to the outside of FRANTANCK, LAKESHORE HERO made contact with VIVA FIRECRACKER which resulted in VIVA FIRECRACKER becoming badly unbalanced and LAKESHORE HERO then having to be steadied to avoid FRANTANCK. M F Poon was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After being shifted to the inside of FRANTANCK to obtain clear running LAKESHORE HERO was then held up for clear running between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres.
6 4 TAKE ACTION (J098) No report.
7 7 RED BRICK WARRIOR (K580) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
8 5 THE AZURE (J227) Jumped only fairly and then made contact with LAKESHORE HERO due to both runners shifting ground. Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres raced tight between TAKE ACTION and RED BRICK WARRIOR which was being shifted out to obtain clear running.
9 6 TO INFINITY (G277) No report.
10 9 KOLACHI (J395) Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded by RUN RUN TIMING which shifted out. H Bentley stated that his mount had difficulty improving on the Home Turn when positioned behind TO INFINITY and once clear in the Home Straight finished the race off only fairly under riding. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 3 STATE SECURITY (L263) Bumped shortly after the start. A short distance later was steadied when crowded between VIVA FIRECRACKER which shifted out slightly and THE AZURE which was racing tight to the inside of LAKESHORE HERO.
12 2 WIN EASE (K384) On jumping was bumped by VIVA FIRECRACKER which shifted in and away from STATE SECURITY. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
