1 6 JUMBO BLESSING (K529) Jumped only fairly. Lay in over the final 200 Metres and leaving the 200 Metres shifted in and bumped HARMONY FIRE. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 3 SUPERB KING (K479) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 5 GEORGIAN SIGMA (L007) No report.
4 8 HARMONY FIRE (E175) Near the 800 Metres was eased to avoid DOUBLE ALPHA when DOUBLE ALPHA shifted in and away from GEORGIAN SIGMA which shifted in. Leaving the 200 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced.
5 9 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 4 DOUBLE ALPHA (L291) Shortly after the start was bumped by BEAUTY SHOW and then raced in restricted room between BEAUTY SHOW and LUCKY TWENTY which was taken in slightly by GEORGIAN SIGMA. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
7 12 ZETA HEDGE (K295) Near the 350 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of BEAUTY SHOW when BEAUTY SHOW commenced to give ground.
8 11 TURBO JEFFERIES (L328) Jumped only fairly.
9 1 BLUE ILLUSION (K468) Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
10 7 GIANT SPIRIT (L169) Near the 800 Metres was bumped by HARMONY FIRE. Near the 350 Metres was eased to avoid ZETA HEDGE which shifted to the outside of BEAUTY SHOW.
11 10 LUCKY TWENTY (K392) Shortly after the start made contact with DOUBLE ALPHA.
12 2 BEAUTY SHOW (L260) Shortly after the start shifted out and away from HARMONY FIRE and made contact with DOUBLE ALPHA. When questioned Z Purton stated that his mount was pressured in the lead in the early stages. He said on the Home Turn BEAUTY SHOW came under pressure and shifted ground and as a result in the Home Straight he did not fully test the horse to the finish of the event. Trainer F C Lor agreed with the assessment of Jockey Purton that the horse did not appreciate being pressured in the lead but could offer no other explanation for the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BEAUTY SHOW, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY SHOW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
