Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, HIGH SPIRITS bounded in the air. SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT came from the gates awkwardly and threw its head up. On jumping, ETERNAL FUN shifted in and bumped KOH-I-NOOR. Also on jumping, K S Yu (HAPPY FORTUNE) momentarily lost the use of his left side stirrup iron. Near the 400 Metres, BLACK KNIGHT was checked rather severely when crowded for room between ETERNAL FUN which shifted to the outside of VALUATE which shifted out slightly and KOH-I-NOOR which shifted slightly to get inside BLACK CARBINE. The check to BLACK KNIGHT was one of some significance, however, in view of all the circumstances which occurred, it was decided no action be taken. Approaching the 200 Metres, HIGH SPIRITS was checked when crowded between MONEY WINS and SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT (H K Yim) which was racing ungenerously, got its head up and shifted out. H K Yim was reprimanded and told he must exercise far more care. Also approaching the 200 Metres, KOH-I-NOOR was momentarily held up for running between SNOWSTORM and VALUATE which shifted out. After the 200 Metres, SUCCESSFUL SPIRIT was hit under the jaw by the whip of G Schofield (MONEY WINS). Inside the 100 Metres, ETERNAL FUN was steadied and shifted out when disappointed for running inside VALUATE. In the run to the winning post, UNIVERSAL CHARGER shifted in. KEEN MARSHAL and UNIVERSAL CHARGER were sent for sampling.
