Racing Incident Report

THANKS FOREVER began only fairly and then was steadied away from the heels of VOYAGE WARRIOR on jumping.
Near the 50 Metres, FULL OF BEAUTY was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of MR STUNNING.
When questioned regarding the performance of BIG PARTY, G van Niekerk stated that after shifting in to race on the rail behind the eventual winner HOT KING PRAWN in the early stages, BIG PARTY appeared reluctant to maintain its position when initially racing in restricted room inside MR STUNNING passing the 850 Metres. He said he had to ride BIG PARTY along to maintain its position inside MR STUNNING after this, however, BIG PARTY did not appear to be comfortable when racing in this position. He said he shifted BIG PARTY to the outside of runners passing the 400 Metres, however, the horse did not quicken as it had when ridden by him in the past and finished off the race only one-paced. He added BIG PARTY had barrier trialed well in the lead up to today’s race on 25 February 2020 and that perhaps there had not been enough time between that trial and today’s race as the trial was a hard one given that BIG PARTY had missed the start. A veterinary inspection of BIG PARTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BIG PARTY, HOT KING PRAWN and THANKS FOREVER were sent for sampling.
