1 8 THE CONCENTRATION (H465) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 3 WINNING MACHINE (K239) Slow to begin. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Apprentice E C W Wong pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 300 Metres (see CASA LEGEND). Inside the final 100 Metres shifted out under pressure whilst being ridden along, inconveniencing GALE SAGA. Apprentice E C W Wong explained that his instructions were to take up a more forward position but was left with no alternative than to ride his mount back after missing the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 1 GALE SAGA (J152) Near the 200 Metres K Teetan had his whip knocked from his grasp by the whip of Apprentice E C W Wong (WINNING MACHINE). Inconvenienced after passing the 100 Metres by WINNING MACHINE which shifted out.
4 5 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) Shortly after the start got its head up. Held up after passing the 400 Metres until inside the 200 Metres.
5 7 MAJESTIC DELIGHT (K189) Was unable to improve its position from the 500 Metres and was then held up for clear running from the 400 Metres until inside the 300 Metres.
6 14 SUPREME WINNER (J255) No report.
7 6 JOLLY JUMPER (K110) No report.
8 9 MANYTHANKS FOREVER (J065) Held up after passing the 400 Metres and failed to obtain clear running until inside the 100 Metres.
9 11 SMART ENGINEER (K244) D Probert advised that his instructions were to ride his mount more quietly today which was confirmed by Trainer K W Lui.
10 13 EURO ROCKS (H153) On jumping shifted out and bumped SPEEDY TRIDENT.
11 2 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) On jumping got unbalanced when bumped by EURO ROCKS which shifted out.
12 10 CASA LEGEND (G126) Slow to begin. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Apprentice E C W Wong (WINNING MACHINE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of CASA LEGEND, resulting in CASA LEGEND having to be checked and in doing so having to avoid the heels of GALE SAGA. Apprentice Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 11 March 2026 and to expire on Thursday, 19 March 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his poor race riding record.
13 12 THE WAY WE WIN (J493) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
14 4 GOOD PROSPECT (J406) L Ferraris reported that his instructions were to take up a forward position if not lead. Trainer B Crawford confirmed the instructions issued as GOOD PROSPECT failed to quicken when ridden back at its last start, therefore they decided to go forward today. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
