Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 GENTLEMEN LEGACY (K385) Bumped shortly after the start. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 LIVEANDLETLIVE (K156) Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Sent for sampling post-race.
14 ENTHRALLED (K252) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 1400 Metres shifted in and made contact with BRAVEHEARTS. Held up for clear running making the Home Turn.
11 FORTUNE BOY (K098) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. H Bentley pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 100 Metres (see THE AUSPICIOUS).
13 AGENDA (K160) Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with GENTLEMEN LEGACY. M F Poon reported that the instructions were to hold a more forward position but despite riding his mount along in the early stages it failed to show sufficient pace to do so.
10 RELIABLE PROFIT (G462) Prior to declaring weighed-in Trainer C S Shum viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection following RELIABLE PROFIT being heavily bumped near the 100 Metres when THE AUSPICIOUS was taken in by FORTUNE BOY. When Mr Shum declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when racing tight between ENTHRALLED and THE AUSPICIOUS.
12 THE AUSPICIOUS (K004) Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration as to whether there were grounds for a protest/objection against FORTUNE BOY being declared the 4th placegetter following interference to THE AUSPICIOUS which occurred near the 100 Metres and again approaching the winning post. After viewing the patrol films and taking into account the margin of one length between the two runners at the finish of the event, the Stewards declined to lodge a protest/objection when they were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds to do so. Accordingly, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. H Bentley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of THE AUSPICIOUS, resulting in THE AUSPICIOUS being taken in, making heavy contact with RELIABLE PROFIT, resulting in THE AUSPICIOUS becoming unbalanced. After assessing the carelessness grade 1, the consequences grade 2, the contribution of a minor shift out from RELIABLE PROFIT and also having regard to Jockey Bentley’s excellent record, the Stewards determined the appropriate penalty to be a reprimand. Over the concluding stages became unbalanced when crowded between FORTUNE BOY which shifted in slightly and RELIABLE PROFIT which raced tight to the outside of ENTHRALLED. Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed that he had instructed M Guyon to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added the horse settled in a forward position at its most recent start when the pace of the early stages were run outside of standard time.
5 NOISY BOY (J536) No report.
6 BRAVEHEARTS (H389) Jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Bumped near the 1400 Metres.
4 PRESTIGE GOOD (K131) Jumped only fairly. R Kingscote stated that, in his opinion, the horse did not appreciate being up in weight today carrying 134 lbs and also, in his opinion, may have been feeling the effects of some recent hard runs.
9 EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093) Jumped only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
3 SERAPH GABRIEL (L108) D B McMonagle stated that the horse was under pressure from the 500 Metres and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was disappointing. Trainer D Eustace stated that the only explanation he could offer for the performance was that the horse may not have backed up from its last run on 1 February 2026 but otherwise SERAPH GABRIEL had pleased him leading into the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SERAPH GABRIEL was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, SERAPH GABRIEL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
2 LA CITY BLANCHE (G371) No report.
7 LE ZONDA (L110) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions were to take up a handy position and attempt to obtain cover. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of LE ZONDA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, LE ZONDA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
