Racing Incident Report
| Pla. | Horse No. | Horse | Incident |
1 | NEZHA (K494) | Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SUPER LOVE which shifted out. Between the 600 Metres and the 500 Metres was taken back through the field when SUPER LOVE gave ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 | CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) | Slow to begin. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 | NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) | No report.
10 | BULL ATTITUDE (K305) | Approaching the 1500 Metres was contacted by SUPER LOVE when that runner shifted out. Bumped and taken wider approaching the 400 Metres.
6 | NEVER PETER OUT (J200) | When questioned regarding his mount leading H Bowman stated that the intention was to hold a handy position but not lead. He said after his mount jumped well and he was positioned wide in the early stages he elected to allow the horse to stride forward and lead. He said when joined by YODA’S CHOICE in the early stages he was satisfied to hold the lead as that runner did not place pressure on NEVER PETER OUT and his horse was racing in a good rhythm at that point. He added whilst the section between the 1200 Metres and the 800 Metres was run inside of standard time he did not attempt to restrain his mount as at its most recent start the horse had not travelled well and he felt this was the best way to have it finish the race off in the Home Straight.
7 | HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) | Near the 1400 Metres HAPPY UNIVERSE and GOOD GOOD were crowded by NIGHT PUROSANGUE (Y L Chung) which shifted in and away from YODA’S CHOICE. Y L Chung was advised to exercise more care. Approaching the 400 Metres made contact with BULL ATTITUDE when being shifted to the outside of ARIEL to improve. Sent for sampling post-race.
8 | DAILY TROPHY (H283) | Made contact with the right side of its starting gate on jumping.
13 | FIREFOOT (J183) | C Y Ho reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after beginning only fairly and then being crowded by NEVER PETER OUT his mount settled further back than intended.
12 | YODA'S CHOICE (J146) | No report.
3 | ARIEL (G223) | No report.
4 | FOREVER FOLKS (G463) | Jumped only fairly. D B McMonagle could offer no excuse for the horse’s failure to run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Trainer C S Shum advised that he had been pleased with the horse leading into the race and could offer no explanation for its disappointing run. The performance of FOREVER FOLKS was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, FOREVER FOLKS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
9 | GOOD GOOD (J224) | Near the 1400 Metres was crowded. B Avdulla stated that his mount did not show its usual early pace to hold a more forward position. He said GOOD GOOD did not travel well throughout the event and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GOOD GOOD was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD GOOD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
14 | PRINCE ALEX (G307) | Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of PRINCE ALEX, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, PRINCE ALEX will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
2 | SUPER LOVE (K118) | Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with NEZHA. Shifted out approaching the 1500 Metres and was bumped. A Atzeni stated that his mount did not appreciate racing on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SUPER LOVE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER LOVE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
