2 1 SWIFT ASCEND (H395) Near the 250 Metres became held up behind ON THE WAY. When being directed to the outside of ON THE WAY, SWIFT ASCEND was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of ON THE WAY when it shifted out. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 HAPPY INDEX (L152) Sent for sampling post-race.
4 9 SILK MASTER (L521) No report.
5 2 GALACTIC VOYAGE (K514) Shortly after the start was steadied to avoid SWIFT ASCEND which was taken out by ON THE WAY.
6 4 COOL BOY (L014) Jumped only fairly. Approaching the 400 Metres made contact with ELITE GOLF when being shifted to the outside of SHANGHAI WARRIOR to obtain clear running. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of A Badel, 6th placegetter, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ensure that he fully rides his mounts out to the finish of the race.
7 10 EMBRACE ABERDEEN (L020) When questioned A Atzeni stated that he expected to hold a more forward position, however, when a number of runners showed superior pace his mount settled further back than he had anticipated.
8 5 ON THE WAY (L154) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
9 6 ELITE GOLF (L023) Bumped approaching the 400 Metres. H Bentley stated that his instructions were to go forward. He said when caught very wide in the early stages he elected to take a trailing position behind SHANGHAI WARRIOR near the 800 Metres which resulted in ELITE GOLF settling further back than intended. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 11 SHANGHAI WARRIOR (L434) A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
11 12 ENDURANCE EXPRESS (L397) Jumped awkwardly. Shortly after the start blundered. M Chadwick stated that with the early stages being run inside of standard time his mount was under pressure throughout the race and also did not appreciate racing amongst other horses during the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
12 7 EVER LUCK (K235) L Hewitson stated that after leading the event his mount failed to respond to his riding and gave ground noticeably in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings other than the horse had sustained a small laceration to the right stifle.
