6 G125  SURE JOYFUL  14/01/2026   346  SURE JOYFUL (G125) briefly held up making the Home Turn. For some distance near the 100M had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind a runner. Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out close to another runner. Rider stated that from the outside barrier his instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide draw. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued - Race 346.

He said as a result his mount set a pace inside of standard time throughout the early stages and was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. Trainer confirmed the instructions were to show intent to lead the event but, in his opinion, the pace of the early stages was too quick. He added that the horse was also disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 327.

Trainer stated that he expected the horse to hold a midfield position but due to the early and middle stages being run outside of standard time the horse raced keenly and as a consequence found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 329.
