Racing Incident Report

1 1 SON PAK FU (G265) Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 550 Metres made contact with the running rail. Near the 150 Metres was bumped by MATTERS MOST when racing tight to the inside of MATTERS MOST which shifted in and away from GUMMY GUMMY before being corrected by its rider. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 5 GUMMY GUMMY (H089) Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start shifted out slightly and made contact with SON PAK FU. K C Leung, who weighed in at 123 lbs, was fined the sum of $5,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 12 SPICY GOLD (H440) No report.
4 11 ROBOT LUCKY STAR (K485) Sent for sampling post-race.
5 6 KING LOTUS (K186) Slow to begin.
6 3 MATTERS MOST (K154) Near the 150 Metres lay in and made contact with SON PAK FU, resulting in its rider E C W Wong having to correct his mount. Jockey Wong stated that the instructions were to obtain a position behind the early leaders as connections were of the view there was fast pace engaged in the event to the inside of MATTERS MOST.
7 4 SPORTS LEGEND (H456) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
8 2 RED ELEGANCE (H241) Bumped shortly after the start. After the 300 Metres was hampered when taken in by HONEST WITNESS which lay in when giving ground. Between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
9 8 EMBRACE ABERDEEN (L020) Bumped shortly after the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 7 SKY CAP (K125) J Moreira stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced "flat”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SKY CAP was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, SKY CAP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
11 10 FLYING HUNTER (L247) No report.
12 9 HONEST WITNESS (K283) Near the 300 Metres lay in when giving ground, resulting in its rider Z Purton having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Z Purton stated that his mount raced too keenly in the middle stages when positioned behind SKY CAP and refused to settle. He said as a result HONEST WITNESS did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of HONEST WITNESS, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, HONEST WITNESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
