Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
1 12 LE ZONDA (L110) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 3 SAGACIOUS LIFE (K507) Sent for sampling post-race.
3 4 HELENE FEELING (H215) E C W Wong stated that the intention was to hold a forward position but not lead. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to lead the event to avoid covering additional ground.
4 9 CALIFORNIATOTALITY (H418) Near the 1400 Metres, when racing keenly, got its head up when being steadied to avoid HELENE FEELING (E C W Wong) which shifted in when not fully clear. E C W Wong was advised to exercise more care.
5 2 MASSIVE SOVEREIGN (J208) Was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 6 PACKING ANGEL (J454) No report.
7 1 SPEED DRAGON (H380) No report.
8 11 ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (K566) A Atzeni stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily outside the lead but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. Trainer M Newnham stated that the horse was a little stirred up prior to the event and, in his opinion, would derive a fitness benefit from tonight’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 7 SILVERY BREEZE (K057) Jumped only fairly. Z Purton stated that from the outside barrier he was obliged to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He added that in the Home Straight he was satisfied with the horse’s finishing effort. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
10 10 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to PACKING ANGEL.
11 8 MAX QUE (J514) A Badel stated that his mount obtained a favourable position during the event but failed to run on in the Home Straight. Trainer M Newham stated that he was pleased with the horse’s work leading into the race and MAX QUE had previously performed well when backing up quickly. He added he could offer no explanation for the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MAX QUE was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, MAX QUE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
5 HUGE WAVE (J197) Was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after it was found to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HUGE WAVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
