Racing Incident Report
CHUNG ON TREASURE was withdrawn on 9.11.01 on veterinary grounds (wound to the off fore pastern) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter CHARMING SUCCESS (W Woods). Before racing again, CHUNG ON TREASURE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. Before the start was effected, CLASSIC RIZZI became fractious and lunged forward. As a consequence, its gate opened fractionally early. CLASSIC RIZZI then came out very awkwardly, bumped the outside of its stall. CLASSIC RIZZI when racing wide made the 700 Metre turn badly. When the gates opened, AMERICAN WIN bounded in the air, because of this lost considerable ground. Following the race, W Woods (CHARMING SUCCESS) said he thought the horse was lame. The Veterinary Surgeon examined CHARMING SUCCESS, trotted the horse up and said in his opinion the horse was not lame but it was stepping out short in front.
