Racing Incident Report

Mr P C Kan, trainer of RAINBOW AND GOLD, was fined $2,000 for declaring W M Lai as the rider of the horse without officially confirming the engagement. It was established that W M Lai had a firm commitment for GREEN VACATION and permission was granted for Mr Kan to declare K S Yu. CHIU CHOW BROTHER left the gates awkwardly and threw its head about. Approaching the 1200 Metres, CHIU CHOW BROTHER was unbalanced when momentarily awkward between ASIA RISING and MOMENTUM which briefly shifted out. In the middle stages, ASIA RISING pulled hard and threw its head about. Near the 600 Metres, MOMENTUM got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of NORTHERN GOLD BALL. In the run to the winning post, SPLENDID PATROL shifted in. As a consequence of this, E Legrix stopped riding and changed his whip hand. SUN SHINE RIVER was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. The post race clinical examination of SUN SHINE RIVER revealed no significant abnormalities. NORTHERN GOLD BALL and SPLENDID PATROL were sent for sampling.
