Racing Incident Report
SURVEYOR was slow to begin. In the early and middle stages, FORTUNE SMILES proved difficult to settle and passing the 1900 Metres and again at the 1600 Metres got its head up when close to the heels of LUCKY SIXER. Making the Home Turn, WINNING SUNSHINE, which was improving into a tight run on the inside of FORTUNE SMILES, bumped the running rail when crowded by that horse which momentarily got its head on the side and shifted in. Near the 900 Metres, WINNING SUNSHINE was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE SMILES. Near the 600 Metres, MILLENNIUM SPIRIT was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of KIDDY SING. FORTUNE SMILES was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, FORTUNE SMILES was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed a significant amount of mucus in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE SMILES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SUPER COMBED and WINNING SUNSHINE were sent for sampling.
