Racing Incident Report
HORACE'S HORSE began awkwardly, bounded in the air, shifted in and bumped CHING HOI BOY which in turn shifted ground and bumped HERO OF ABALONE. ARIGATO began awkwardly and shifted out, causing PLEASURE PLEASURE and STORMY to be carried wider. After this, STORMY travelled wide and without cover for the remainder of the race and gave ground in the Home Straight. FREE WAY was slow to begin. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, KIWI DASH got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of ZABEEL VICTORY. After the 600 Metres, CHING HOI BOY raced close to the heels of WYNDAM PLENTY. As a result of this, WYNDAM PLENTY became unbalanced behind. Near the 500 Metres, BAYVIEW LAD, which had been ridden along in an endeavour to hold its position, was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside MANGROVE. After the 400 Metres, FREE WAY blundered and nearly fell after striking the heels of HERO OF ABALONE which at this time was shifting towards the outside of STORMY which commenced to give ground and shifted out slightly. In the circumstances, no action was taken. After the 400 Metres, KIWI DASH was steadied and shifted to the outside of ARIGATO into clear runnning. From the 400 Metres until the 200 Metres, CHING HOI BOY was held up and unable to improve between FORTUNE MAPLE and PEACH BLOSSOM. At the 200 Metres, CHING HOI BOY was steadied and shifted to the outside of PEACH BLOSSOM. Over about the final 100 Metres, BAYVIEW LAD was unable to improve between MANGROVE and PLEASURE PLEASURE and because of this was not ridden out as it normally would be. WYNDAM PLENTY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, WYNDAM PLENTY was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings other than the horse had lost its right hind plate. PEACH BLOSSOM and FORTUNE MAPLE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported MANGROVE had bled from the right nostril and an endoscopic examination confirmed the horse to be a bleeder.
