Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, FAVOURITE RETURN bounded in the air, then shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ONLY YOU which on jumping shifted in. LUCKY DICE stumbled on jumping and lost ground. STRIKE TO WIN was slow to begin. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, VINCERE was steadied to avoid the heels of MADE IN HONGKONG which shifted in when barely clear. When VINCERE was steadied, it then shifted out and caused some inconvenience to GOOD TRIO. Making the first turn, DANSKE VERY MUCH, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up, shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of ONLY YOU. FAVOURITE RETURN, which was racing inside DANSKE VERY MUCH, was steadied when awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. For some distance after this, DANSKE VERY MUCH continued to prove difficult to settle. In the early part of the Straight, GOOD TRIO was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of WINNING SMILE. Near the 200 Metres, VINCERE got its head on the side and shifted in. Because of this, Y T Cheng, its rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount. STRIKE TO WIN and GOOD TRIO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of STRIKE TO WIN and GOOD TRIO after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of STRIKE TO WIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, STRIKE TO WIN will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ONLY YOU and SHINING DAY were sent for sampling.
