Racing Incident Report
VITAL SPARK was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, VITAL SPARK will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. BUDDIES SPIRIT, which was fractious in its stall and standing with its head turned to the right as the gates opened, was slow to begin and as a consequence travelled behind midfield. From the outside barrier, SUPER BONUS was taken across behind runners. Near the 1000 Metres, GOOD TO GREAT was momentarily steadied away from the heels of RAINBOW EXPRESS. After the 800 Metres, JADE DANCER was left racing wide and without cover and then hung out making the Home Turn. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, BUDDIES SPIRIT was awkwardly placed inside GOOD TO GREAT which itself was tight inside JADE DANCER. Over the final 200 Metres, ACTIVE VALOUR got its head on the side and was inclined to shift out. SABRE AND GOLD and BUDDIES SPIRIT were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SABRE AND GOLD and BUDDIES SPIRIT after the race did not show any significant findings. JADE DANCER, GLORY YEARS and ACTIVE VALOUR were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 13 March 2006)
SABRE AND GOLD, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SABRE AND GOLD was again examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C H Yip this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SABRE AND GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
